Right lobar bronchi and bronchus intermedius
Bronchi lobares dextri et bronchus intermedius
- Origin
- Arise from the right main bronchus as the eparterial superior lobar bronchus and the bronchus intermedius
- Insertion
- The bronchus intermedius subsequently divides into the middle and inferior lobar bronchi
- Function
- Supplies air to the three right pulmonary lobes (upper, middle, lower)
- Innervation
- Pulmonary plexus

- Lobar airway compliance and caliber change during breathing
- Palpation
- Auscultated over right anterior, lateral, and posterior thorax
- Clinical
- Bronchus intermedius obstruction collapses both middle and lower lobes. Middle lobe syndrome (chronic recurrent atelectasis of the middle lobe due to lymph node compression).
