Is Corpus3D suitable for a physiotherapy degree?

Accepted Answer

Yes. Pick physiotherapy when you open the atlas and bones, muscles and ligaments are on by default, origin, insertion, function, movement and palpation sit at the top of the info panel, and Terminologia Anatomica is the leading name. The practice modes cover the same material: pointing out attachments, recognising muscles, function and movement, joints, palpation, clinical tests and conditions.

Can I practise origin and insertion on the skeleton?

Yes. In the “point out the attachment” mode you get a bare skeleton and a muscle name, and you tap where the muscle originates and where it inserts. For 235 structures the attachment is stored as a 3D point or line on the bone, so your click is compared in space to the real site rather than to a drawing.

Which clinical tests are included?

Accepted Answer

Fifty-eight tests from shoulder to foot, each with purpose, procedure, positive finding and diagnostic value. They include the Lachman test, the McMurray test, the Neer and Hawkins-Kennedy tests, the FABER and FADIR tests, the Spurling test, the Thompson test and the Ottawa ankle rules. Every test points through to the joint and the structures it loads.

Can I practise palpation without a partner?

The atlas holds 67 palpation landmarks, each with the route towards it across the bone and what the landmark is used for in practice. You look it up on the 3D model first, so you know what you are searching for before it is under your fingers on someone else.

What does Corpus3D cost?

Accepted Answer

Nothing. The atlas is free and works without an account, without a password and without a trial period. A free account is optional and does one thing: keep your progress if you clear your browser or continue on your phone.

Does it run on my university laptop or Chromebook?

Accepted Answer

Yes. Corpus3D runs on WebGL in any modern browser, with no installation, plugin or administrator rights. The font, the models and the decoder are served from corpus3d.com itself, so no student IP address ends up with a third party.

Which languages is the content available in?

Accepted Answer

English, Dutch, Spanish and French, and that covers every structure text, not just the buttons. Latin Terminologia Anatomica sits alongside in each language, with a switch for which name leads.

Does this replace my anatomy textbook or the dissection lab?
