- Arise from the left main bronchus at the pulmonary hilum
- Insertion
- Distribute into the superior lobe (including lingular segments) and inferior lobe of the left lung
- Function
- Air conduction dedicated to the two distinct left pulmonary lobes
- Innervation
- Pulmonary plexus

- Respiratory compliance and airway caliber regulation
- Palpation
- Auscultation of left upper and lower lung zones

- Bronchogenic carcinoma or mucus plugging causing lobar collapse/atelectasis.
