Recurrent interosseous artery
Arteria interossea recurrens
- Origin
- Arises from the posterior interosseous artery near its origin
- Insertion
- Ascends between the lateral epicondyle and olecranon to anastomose with the middle collateral artery
- Function
- Supplies the posterior elbow capsule, anconeus muscle, and participates in the cubital arterial anastomosis
- Innervation
- Sympathetic perivascular nerves
- Movement & chain
- Courses deep to anconeus across the posterolateral elbow
- Palpation
- Not palpable through extensor origins and anconeus
- Clinical
- Contributes to the posterolateral elbow anastomotic network
- Segmental innervation
- C6–C8 roots

- Encountered and preserved during the posterolateral (Kocher) approach to the elbow and radial head
