Arteria collateralis media
- Origin
- Posterior terminal branch of the profunda brachii artery
- Insertion
- Descends through the triceps muscle to the olecranon to anastomose with the recurrent interosseous artery
- Function
- Supplies the medial head of triceps and forms the posterior olecranon rete articulare cubiti
- Innervation
- Sympathetic perivascular nerves
- Movement & chain
- Traverses the posterior brachial compartment
- Palpation
- Not palpable through posterior triceps musculature
- Clinical
- Contributes to the bypass network around the elbow during brachial artery obstruction
- Segmental innervation
- C6–C8 segments

- Identified and preserved in posterior triceps-splitting surgical approaches to the distal humerus
