- Arise from the dorsal carpal network and descend along the dorsal interosseous spaces
- Insertion
- Bifurcate at the web spaces into dorsal digital arteries supplying the proximal dorsal phalanges
- Function
- Supply the dorsum of the hand, dorsal interossei, and dorsal aspects of proximal phalanges
- Innervation
- Sympathetic vasomotor fibers
- Movement & chain
- Protected beneath the extensor tendon expansions on the dorsal hand
- Palpation
- Not palpable through dorsal hand skin and fascia
