- Origin
- Originates from the deep venous plexus of the quadriceps and lateral hip
- Insertion
- Accompanies the lateral circumflex femoral artery to drain into the deep femoral vein
- Function
- Deep venous return from the anterior and lateral thigh musculature
- Innervation
- Sympathetic vasomotor fibers
- Movement & chain
- Courses deep to rectus femoris across the anterior femoral neck
- Palpation
- Not palpable through thick thigh muscles
