Trochlea of the talus
Trochlea tali
- How to find it
- Bring the foot into plantar flexion: the anterolateral corner of the articular surface then emerges from under the mortise and can be felt as a broad domed surface just in front of the lateral malleolus.
- What you use it for
- Only accessible in plantar flexion. An osteochondral defect of the trochlea is a common reason an ankle stays painful after a sprain.
