- What you examine
- Complete rupture of the Achilles tendon.
- Procedure
- Prone with the feet over the edge. Squeeze the calf musculature.
- Positive when
- The foot does not move into plantar flexion.
- What the test is worth
- High sensitivity and specificity for a complete rupture.
- Caution
- In a partial rupture the test can be negative while there is definitely an injury.
