Adductor squeeze test

- What you examine
- Adductor-related groin pain.
- Procedure
- Supine. Place your fist or forearm between the knees and have the patient squeeze maximally, successively with the hips at 0, 45 and 90 degrees of flexion.
- Positive when
- Recognisable pain high in the groin, or clear loss of force compared with the other side.
- What the test is worth
- Part of the Doha agreement on groin pain in athletes. With a pressure cuff the test also serves to monitor recovery.
- Caution
- The three angles give different answers and that is intended: pain at 0 degrees points more to the attachment, pain at 90 degrees more to the muscle belly.
