- How to find it
- Follow the bony crest on the back of the shoulder blade medially until it flattens into a smooth area about the size of a thumbnail. With the shoulder relaxed that area lies at the level of the third thoracic vertebra.
- What you use it for
- A fixed landmark for counting vertebral levels and for comparing left with right when judging scapular position.
