Shoulder
Bicipital groove
Sulcus intertubercularis
- How to find it
- Between the greater and lesser tubercles lies a narrow furrow. Rotate the arm back and forth with your finger on the front of the humeral head: it slides past like a valley between two hills.
- What you use it for
- The long head of biceps runs here, held by the transverse humeral ligament. Tenderness exactly in the groove is one pointer to tendinopathy of that tendon.
