- How to find it
- Follow the second metacarpal proximally to the joint line. The bone directly proximal to it is wedged between its neighbours and barely moves when you tilt the hand.
- What you use it for
- The smallest bone of the distal carpal row and the most stable: it sits like a keystone between trapezium and capitate. Injury to it is rare and indicates considerable force.
