- How to find it
- Run your finger over the back of the hand from the base of the third metacarpal proximally. You first feel a rise and then a distinct hollow; the bone you are after sits in that hollow.
- What you use it for
- The largest carpal bone and the axis about which the whole wrist moves. It sits centrally, so injury to it disturbs the entire carpal mechanism.
