Shoulder
Medial border of the scapula
Margo medialis scapulae
- How to find it
- Let the arm hang relaxed. This border runs from top to bottom parallel to the spinous processes, about a hand width to their side. Ask for a slight retraction of the shoulders and it stands out more clearly along its whole length.
- What you use it for
- Attachment of the rhomboids and serratus anterior. If the border lifts away from the chest wall you have a winged scapula, usually from a long thoracic nerve palsy.
- On the bone
