How to find it

Let the arm hang relaxed and follow the medial border caudally to its tip, at the level of the seventh thoracic vertebra. On arm elevation it is the one point of the shoulder blade that clearly swings laterally under your fingers.

What you use it for

Assessing scapular position and upward rotation during the scapulohumeral rhythm; it normally lies at the level of the spinous process of T7.
